He was the husband of Mrs. Susie Carson Daughtrey and son of the late Edward and Mary Freeman Daughtrey of Nansemond County. Besides his wife he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. C.P. Anderson of Petersburg; Mrs. N.B. Godfrey, Jr., of Norfolk; Mrs. D.B. Richardson of Franklin; Mrs. E.L. Rawls and Mrs. J.L. Howell of Carrsville, and Mrs. A.W. Graves, of Lacey Springs; two sons, Lieut. E.H. Daughtrey, USN, and Jasper Daughtrey, Jr., of the U.S. Maritime Service; two brothers, R.A. Daughtrey, of Windsor and V.K. Daughtrey of Handsom, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church of which he was a member, by the Rev. N.C. Clifton. Burial was in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Pallbearers were: William Rose, Kemper Daughtrey, Jr., W.W. Walsh, Raby Daughtrey, R.B. Daughtrey, Jr., John Daughtrey, Clarence Daughtrey and W.H. Daughtrey.
