All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY SUSIE CARSON DAUGHTREY Mrs. Susie Carson Daughtrey, widow of Jasper Daughtrey, of Carrsville died Saturday, August 23, in De Paul Hospital, Norfolk, after a brief illness. At the time of her death she was 65 years of age. Mrs. Daughtrey was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Sarah Eley Carson, of Isle of Wight County. She was born near Carrsville on March 17, 1882. Surviving her are six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy D. Anderson of Petersburg, Mrs. Elsie D. Godfrey of London Bridge, Mrs. Mary Sue Richardson of Franklin, Mrs. Edith D. Rawls and Mrs. Nell D. Howell of Carrsville, and Mrs. Ida D. Graves of Lacey Spring, Rockingham County; two sons, Lieut. E.H. Daughtrey of Portsmouth and Jasper Daughtrey, Jr., of Norfolk; six grandsons and six granddaughters; three sisters, Mrs. Martha White and Mrs. Sallie Edgeton of Portsmouth and Mrs. Rosa Rose of Carrsville; two brothers, W.H. Carson of Windsor and P.D. Carson of Medina, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church and of the Woman's Missionary Society of the church. Funeral services for Mrs. Daughtrey were held Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Beaver Dam Baptist Church, the pastor, Rev. N.C. Clifton, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. There were many beautiful floral designs. Active pallbearers were William H. Rose, J.C. Rose, Jr., Robert Carson, Russell Carson, Kemper Daughtrey, R.A. Daughtrey, Jr., Raby Daughtrey, and James Rawls. The honorary pallbearers were the members of the Men's Bible Class of the church. ****************************************************************************** MARY SUSIE CARSON DAUGHTREY MRS. S.
