DELK Suffolk, Va., July 14 - Captain O.G. Delk, for many years captain of an Old Dominion steamer, running out of Norfolk died today at his home in Smithfield, Va.  He is survived by a family. Captain O.G. DELK, Old Dominion steamboat captain, b. 14 Aug 1838, Southampton Co., d. 14 Jul 1906, at home, Smithfield, interred in Ivy Hill Cemetery*, Smithfield, "Times-Dispatch" (Richmond, VA), July 15, 1906 Additional information: *Isle of Wight County Historical Society {IWCHS} Grave Site Survey Task Force {GSSTF} report #48: http://www.iwchs.com/Cemetery-Reports.html His first name is extremely difficult to decipher. I read it as Owighton, but that's a best guess. FamilySearch.org has it variously as Creighton, Dwighton, and Quighton, and his son as Covington. He was married thrice - 1m. 20 Jan 1859 Roseana GWALTNEY, dt/o Willis & Winnifred; 2m. 3 Sep 1863 Laura V. CHAPMAN, dt/o Charles & Lavinia; and 3m. 18 Dec 1873 Anna M. SPRATLEY, dt/o A.G. & Livinia.
