All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Duncan, Former Zuni Resident, Dies Mrs. Myrtle Franklin Duncan, age 74, a former resident of Zuni, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nellie Bareford in Philadephia, Pa., this morning at 6:30 o'clock after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Annabella Creasy of Bedford. Besides her sister, she is survived by one son, Lewis V. Duncan, Smithfield; two brothers: Boyd H. Franklin of Ocean City, N.J., and George C. Franklin of Lakeworth, Fla.; three grandchildren: Patricia, Gerald and Melvin Duncan of Smithfield; and severval nieces and nephews. The body will be taken to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home where services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Myrtle Duncan To Be Buried Today Funeral services for Myrtle Franklin Duncan will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home by Dr. Furman Kenney of Warwick. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Church. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Myrtle Duncan Buried Yesterday Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Franklin Duncan were conducted at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, by Dr. Furman Kenney, of Warwick. Mrs. Anne Joyner accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner sang "Safe In the Arms of Jesus." The pall consisted of pink gladioli, pink and white carnations and baby's breath. Burial was in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were N.F. Carr, L.B. Johnson, Jr., T.W. Joyner, Walter Joyner and C. Morrison Butler. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. J. B. Duncan Buried May 20 At Windsor, Va. Mrs. Myrtle Franklin Duncan, 74, a former resident of Zuni, died May 18, 1956, at 6:30 A.M. at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nellie Bareford at Philadelphia, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late J.B. Duncan of Zuni and the daughter of the late John Franklin and Annabella [sic; Arrabella] Creasy Franklin, of Bedford. Surviving are a son, Lewis V. Duncan of Smithfield; her sister; two brothers, Boyd H. Franklin of Ocean City, N.J., and Geo. C. Franklin of Lake Worth, Fla.; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The body arrived in Suffolk Saturday and was taken to the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home, where funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. by Dr. Furman Kenney of Warwick. Burial was in the Antioch Christian Church cemetery near Windsor.
