Darden Sr. Buried Dec. 6 In Uzzell's Cemetery Charles Wilson Darden Sr., 64, widely known farmer, died suddenly at his home near Isle of Wight Courthouse Friday, December 4, 1969, at 9:15 P.M. after a heart attack. He was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, a member of Isle of Wight Christian Church and president of the Isle of Wight Hunt Club. He also was fire warden of the county and a member of the Pagan River Barracks. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Chapman Darden; two daughters, Mrs. Ben Jones Jr., and Mrs. R.W. Stallings III; 3 sons, Charles Wilson Darden Jr., all of Isle of Wight County; K.A. Darden of Radford; Graham Darden of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, W.J. Darden of Isle of Wight County; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Hundley, Mrs. Crawley Nurney and Mrs. Melvin Blythe, of Smithfield; Capt. Helen Fitchett, ANC, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and Mrs. Frank Wrenn of Dendron; and an aunt, Mrs. A.H. Adams of Washington; and six grandchildren. A funeral service was held in Uzzell's Church Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. by the Rev. William Grissom, pastor of the Isle of Wight Christian Church. The procession left Jones Funeral Home at 2 P.M.
