A native and lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Hardy E. Darden and daughter of the late James and Mrs. Garrie Daughtrey Carr. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and the adult Bible class. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Louise D. Tupack of Suffolk and Mrs. Barbara D. Johnson, Mrs. Dorothy D. Hays and Mrs. Cora D. Norberg, all of Norfolk; three sons, Jack h. Darden, Raymond N. Darden, J. Clayton Darden, all of Carrsville; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clara Barker of Norfolk; four brothers, Spencer L. Carr and J. Dallas Carr of Virginia Beach, Johnnie E. Carr of Carrsville and R. Lee Carr of Suffolk. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by Rev. Donald E. Trump. Burial will be in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Colosse Baptist Church building fund.
