He was the husband of Mrs. Bertha Moody Darden and son of Rufus and Dorothy Piland Darden of Carrsville. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the National Guard. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by five brothers, Raymond Darden of Franklin, Luther Darden of Suffolk, and Rufus Jr., Marvin and Bernard Darden, all of Carrsville, and one nephew, Dennis R. Darden of Franklin. On Friday at noon the body will be taken from the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. by Rev. Edward Thornton, pastor.
