MARY LOU DARDEN

   Suffolk, Sept. 25 - Funeral services for Miss Mary Lou Darden were 
conducted Friday afternoon at her home in Isle of Wight County by the 
Rev. J. Sidney Cobb and the Rev. Mr. Rhodes.

   Appropriate hymns were sung by the church choir and R.N. Baker sang 
as a solo, "The Old Rugged Cross."  There were many floral tributes.

   Active pallbearers were James Barnes, L.M. Raiford, E. Rhodes, J.H. 
Holland, Elam Rhodes, La Fayette Rawles, S. Edwards, Sidney McClenny. 
Honorary pallbearers were John, Henry and Willie Rhodes, Conrad Barnes, 
W.J.M. Holland, William Smith, Joseph Daughtrey, Hewett Turner, W.H. 
Johnson, Ralph Rhodes, John Darden, Isaac Powell, D.H. Howell and Austin 
Hann.  Burial was in the family cemetery.
