MILLS W. DARDEN 

Mills W. Darden, an esteemed citizen of Isle of Wight, died recently. 


Mills W. DARDEN, of Isle of Wight Co., farmer, 
d. May 1854, age circa 47, 
"The Daily Dispatch" (Richmond, VA), May 20, 1854 

Additional information: 

Age & occupation from 1850 Census. 
   (Eastern Dist., Isle of Wight Co., p. 173, household 880) 

Location of burial not known (July 2017). 

The Isle of Wight County Historical Society {IWCHS} Grave Site Survey 
   Task Force {GSSTF} lists three DARDEN family cemeteries that either have no 
   visible markers or which had not been transcribed - Nos. 154, 163 & 211. 

Mills William "Billy" DARDEN (1878-1955), son of J. Woodville DARDEN, 
   is buried in the Hickory Neck Cemetery, on Joyners Bridge Rd.

Woodville's D.Cert. 1927 #3590 (Windsor Dist. #2) gives his parents as 
   John H. Darden & Mary Carr.  His burial site in IoW.Co. was not specified. 

Woodville appear in the 1850 Census, age 2, with John Darden (of Holland) & 
   Margaret Darden (E.Dist., IoW.Co., p. 180, household 1011), adjacent to 
   John Darden (of John) (household 1011).
