ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. J. A. DARDEN 

Succumbs Friday Night, Rites Sunday at 3:30 Holland Bapt. Ch. 

  Mrs. Sarah Jane Darden, age 73 years, wife of James A. Darden, died Friday 
night at 5:45 o'clock, at the home of her son Algie Darden of Holland, Va., 
following an illness of one month. 

  Besides her husband she is survived by two sons and three daughters, Mrs. 
L.W. Harrell, Mrs. J.E. West, and Mrs. M.S. Harrell, all of Buckhorn; H.J. 
Darden of Franklin, and Algie Darden of Holland, Va.; one sister, Mrs. E.C. 
Smith, of Franklin; and two brothers, C.C. Hedgebeth, of Ettrick, Va., and 
G.W. Hedgebeth, of Suffolk; thirteen grandchildren, and several nieces and 
nephews.  She was a member of Holland Baptist church. 

  Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, at the 
Holland Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, and the Rev. 
Garland Moore.  Interment will be in the Beaver Dam church cemetery.
