CHURCH CARRSVILLE - Funeral services were held at the Colosse Baptist Church Sunday for William Washington Darden, 94, Rev. Donald E. Trump, pastor, officiated. Mr. Darden, a retired farmer, was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. He died Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.J. Cobb of Hampton, following a short illness. Burial was in the church cemetery. Woodmen of the World held a graveside service. He was a son of Washington and Mrs. Almittie Bradshaw Darden and was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. He was the oldest member of Colosse Baptist Church and a charter member of Woodmen of the World in Walters. Besides his daughter, surviving are 13 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. The body was taken to W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in Franklin. Pallbearers were Michael Bounds, Ryland Duck, Frank Duppert, Johnnie Stevens, Linwood Duck, James Clayton Darden, Robert Johnson and Cassie Turner.
