EPPS, JR., 74, DIED SUDDENLY FRIDAY, SEPT. 9TH Edwin Wilroy Epps, Jr., 74, died early Friday, September 9, 1960, at his home in Smithfield. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and had lived in Smithfield the last 40 years. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and of the Smithfield Hunt Club. His parents were Edwin W. and Mrs. Mary Crocker Epps. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Kirkland Epps, three daughters, Miss Willard Epps and Miss Page Epps of Smithfield and Miss Rae E. Epps of Richmond; and one sister, Miss Lucy M. Epps of Smithfield. A funeral service was conducted at the Bullock Funeral Home on Sunday September 11 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. John W. Crocker Jr. and Rev. W. Braxton Epps. Pallbearers were C. Wesley Seward, William B. Epps, F. Fisher Dashiell, Robert L. Sadler, Leroy J. Bland, G. Thomas Cofer, John Edwards and William E. Epps. Burial was in the Ivy Hill Cemetery.
