Everett died Sunday February 20 at 11:30 o'clock after a long illness. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. J.J. Everett, 5 brothers, J.W., H.M, J.A., G.W. and R.L. Everett; two sisters, Mrs. R.L. Everett [sic*] of Norfolk and Mrs. W.H. Reid of Carrollton, Va. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 o'clock in the Old St. Luke's Cemetery, the Rev. Fletcher of Benn's Church officiating. There were many floral tributes.
