BENJAMIN K. EDWARDS 

DEATH CLAIMS LITTLE BENJAMIN EDWARDS 

  After a short illness, Little Ben K. Edwards, aged five years and six 
months, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Edwards, of the county, died last Thursday 
evening at 6 o'clock at his home.  Burial was Friday afternoon in Bethany 
cemetery, Rev. E.W. Sommerville, conducting the burial.

b. 17 Apr 1923, d. 8 Nov 1928, at home, Isle of Wight Co., 
interred in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery*, 9 Nov 1928, 
"The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 8, No. 24, Nov. 15, 1928 

*Additional information: 

First on list; his parents are buried there also.  Note that there are 
   several other cemeteries with Bethany in the name.

Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. #28278, which is problematic.  Ben's residence, 
   birthplace & death site all given as Smithfield, but the magisterial 
   district is given as Hardy.  Smithfield is an incorporated town within 
   Newport District, and the correct number for Newport (461-B) is given 
   for the registration district. 

His paternal grandparents, Benjamin K. & Henrietta M. (ELLIS) EDWARDS, 
   are buried in the EDWARDS family cemetery, Emmanuel Church Rd. 
   IWCHS GSSTF #98
