Edwards of Suffolk Dies From Razor Cut END COMES SUDDENLY TUESDAY NIGHT TO PROMINENT CITIZEN OF SUFFOLK WHO RECENTLY SUFFERED A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. Clarence Edwards, 68, prominent resident of Suffolk, died on Tuesday night at 9 o'clock at the Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, where he was being treated for a nervous disorder. According to Dr. Mitchell, a member of the medical staff of the hospital, Mr. Edwards was found in his room by an attendant in a dying condition. His labored breathing attracted the attention of nurses who investigated and found he had inflicted a bad wound in his throat with a cast off razor blade. Dr. Mitchell announced that Mr. Edwards had shown no suicidal mania and was apparently well on the way to recovery. Mr. Edwards is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Edwards; one daughter, Miss Cleo Edwards of Suffolk, and one step-son, M.F. Hall, of Suffolk. Mr. Edwards was prominently connected in Suffolk and Isle of Wight county. He had made his home in Suffolk for several years and was employed by the Planters Nut and Chocolate Company. Funeral services will be held at the grave in the family cemetery at Central Hill Baptist Church, in this county, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and will be conducted by Dr. W.W. Staley and the Rev. E.B. White.
