Edwards of Boaz, died at her home March 23 [sic; 22*], after a few hours illness of pneumonia. She had just entered her sixth year when God called her home. Little Elsie was an unusually bright child at her age. God knew best and took her from her loved ones here to live with Him. Besides her father and mother she leaves two sisters, little Grace and Page Edwards; her grandparents, Mrs. Rosa Edwards of Portsmouth, and Mr. and Mrs. H.E. [sic; W.E.] Outland of Boaz, Va. Her body was laid to rest at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Outland, March 24, by whom she was so greatly loved. Many beautiful floral designs bore testimony of the love in which she was held by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.F. Paulette of Holland. Boaz lies in Isle of Wight Co., near the Nansemond County line, some 3½ miles NE of Carrsville, where Old Myrtle Rd. (Rt 632) crosses the bed of the old Virginian R.R., less than a mile below the eastern terminus of Joyners Bridge Rd. (Rt. 611). There is an Outland Rd. about halfway back toward Carrsville.
