ROBERT ALLEN EDWARDS JR.

   SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Robert Allen Edwards, Jr., 86, were held 
Sunday in Ivy Hill cemetery by the Rev. T.P. Reynolds Jr.  Colonial Funeral 
Home had charge.

   Edwards died Friday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

   He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the husband of the late Rachel 
Patton Edwards.  He had worked with the Quaker Oats Co. for many years and 
retired.  He was Isle of Wight County distributor for Pioneer Corn Co.,

   He was an Army veteran of World War I and a life member of George F. 
Dashiell American Legion Post 49 of Smithfield.

   Survivors include several cousins.
