Clifton H. Elder 

  WINDSOR - Clifton Harrison Elder, 64, died Wednesday in Southampton Memorial 
Hospital, Franklin. 

  He lived at 117 Windsor Manor and was the husband of the late Mrs. Louise 
Hart Elder.  He was a retired railroad conductor for Norfolk & Western 
Railway.  He was born in Lunenberg County, and was a member of Antioch 
Christian Church and Suffolk Masonic Lodge 30. 

  He was the son of the late Thomas Rennison and Eva Love Elder. 

  Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Anne Elder Brown of Bumpass, and 
Mrs. Mary Elder Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Clyde D. Elder of 
Gloucester Point; and four grandchildren. 

  A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral 
Home, Suffolk, by the Revs. Richard P. Cooke and Ernest W. Pettis.  Burial 
will be in Kenbridge Cemetery with Masonic rites at the grave.  The family 
will be at the funeral home Friday night from 7 to 9.
