Felts SMITHFIELD - Georgie Whitmer Felts, 91, died Monday, Aug. 6, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. A native of Surry County, Mrs. Felts was a homemaker and a member of Bacon's Castle Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Bernice F. Ellis of Wakefield, Edna Myers and Louise F. Jones, both of Smithfield; one son, William R. Felts of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie W. Boole of Carrollton and Leola W. Raby of Richmond; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home by the Revs. Robert Cofield and Warren Taylor. Burial will be in St. Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home and other times as [sic; at] 801 S. Church Street. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Isle of Wight Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield 23430. ********************************************************************************** Obituaries Georgie Whitmer Felts Mrs. Georgie Whitmer Felts, 91, died Monday, August 6, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of William Allen Felts and the daughter of Augusta Councel [sic; Council] and Harry Whitmer. Survivors include three daughters, Bernice F. Ellis of Wakefield, Edna F. Myers and Louise F. Jones both of Smithfield; one son, William R. Felts of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie W. Boole of Carrollton and Leola W. Robert F. Cofield, Jr. and Rev. Warren F. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the St. Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery, Smithfield. Pallbearers were: Brian Eyler, Bill Felts Jr., Bobby Hall, Jimmie Jones, Ted Boothe, Clarence Felts, Rudy Felts and Morris Felts.
