PEARL IDA GAY 

MRS. G.T. GAY OF RESCUE, BURIED FRI. DECEMBER 11, 1953 

  Mrs. Pearl Ida Gay, wife of Geo. Thomas Gay, of Rescue, died in Alexandria 
Hospital Thursday, December 10, 1953, after a long illness.

  She was a member of Riverview Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of 
Isle of Wight County.

  Besides her husband she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. W.A. Hampton 
and Mrs. George T. Lee, both of Woodbridge, Va.; Mrs. A.L. Dovel of 
Shenandoah, Va.; Mrs. A.L. Harding of Richmond; Mrs. Irma Padgett of Norfolk; 
three sons, W.R. Gay and Thurman Gay, both of Rescue; and George T. Gay, Jr. 
of Hampton; one sister, Mrs. Annie Hackney of Edenton, N.C.; 14 grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services were conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in the Riverview Methodist 
Church, Rescue, by the Rev. E.B. Dean.

  Burial was in the church cemetery.
