Godwin, aged 73, of Isle of Wight County, died at his home in Uzzells Community Sunday morning at 5:45 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie B. Godwin; one daughter, Mrs. C. Fenton Garner, of Newport News; one son, Ralph A. Godwin, of Isle of Wight County; three grandchildren, Charles F. Garner Jr., Mildred Garner and Ralph A. Godwin, Jr. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 4:30 at Uzzells Methodist Church, with the Rev. E.W. Rawlings officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Paul Godwin, John Godwin, J.F. Barlow, Jesse Barlow, Jesse Matthews and G.A. Barlow.
