IDA WRIGHT GOODRICH DIED CHRISTMAS Funeral rites for Mrs. Ida Wright Goodrich, 73, prominently connected in this section held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the residence in Smithfield where death occurred Christmas night. She was the widow of Octavia [sic; Octavius] Carrington Goodrich. Services were conducted by the Rev. T. McN. Simpson of the Methodist Church, and interment was made in Ivy Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Nelms and Dr. Rae Parker, Colgate Whitehead, William Holmes Chapman, E.H. Cofer, Dr. W.C. Ames, and W.H. Sykes. Mrs. Goodrich is survived by one brother, Thomas B. Wright, former member of the State Legislature; four children, Miss Mae Goodrich, Mrs. Jack Chapman, Miss Grace Goodrich, and Octavia [sic] Carrington Goodrich; five grandchildren, Miss Ida Wright Chapman, Jack Chapman, Jr., Thomas Wright Chapman, Octavia [sic] Carrington Goodrich, 3rd, and George Newton Goodrich, all of Smithfield and the following nieces and nephews. Dr. Tom Cross, University of Chicago; Hardy Cross, University of Illinois; Bernard Herbert, Walter Tom and Willis Lipscomb and Mrs. James Denny, all of Norfolk; Mrs. Frank Talbot, of Danville, Va.; Helen Lipcomb, of Ashland, Va.; Mrs. Walter McCandish, Misses Maude and Lillie Wright, of Norfolk; Misses Sallie and Bessie Wright, Carrol, Leslie and Ernest Goodrich of Smithfield, and Mrs. John Martin and Flossie Goodrich of Hampton.
