MARY E. HEARN GOODRICH 

  Mrs. Mary Hearn Goodrich, aged 27, 413 Monticello Avenue died at St. 
Vincent's Hospital, Thursday morning, at 6:40 o'clock as the result of self-
administered poison, coroner reported.  She was carried to the hospital about 
2:30 o'clock after she had been discovered in the locked bathroom of her home 
by Mrs. Ruth Dickson, of the same address.

  Mrs. Goodrich was a native of Smithfield and had been a resident of Norfolk 
for the past two years.  She is survived by her husband Octavius C. Goodrich, 
two children, Octavius C. Goodrich, Jr., and George Newton Goodrich, all of 
Smithfield, her father, Mrs. Will Hearn, of Smithfield, one sister and four 
brothers.  The body was taken from H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartment and brought 
to Smithfield on Thursday evening for burial

  The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Summerville [sic; E.W. 
Somerville] on Friday evening at 3 o'clock, from the Uzzell's Methodist Church, 
the interment being in the church cemetery, and many beautiful floral designs 
were contributed.
