CLYDE ASHTON GWALTNEY

   SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Clyde Ashton (Biggie) Gwaltney, 82, were 
held Tuesday in Ivy Hill cemetery by the Rev. T.P. Reynolds Jr. with Colonial 
Funeral Home in charge.

   Gwaltney died Sunday in Newport Convalescent Home, Newport News.

   He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the husband of Ruby Edwards 
Gwaltney.  He was a retired employee of Gwaltney Motor Co.  He was a member of 
Trinity United Methodist Church, Damascus Odd Fellows Lodge 1 of Smithfield, 
and a past noble grand Odd Fellows lodge 269.

   Other survivors include a brother, Cecil W. Gwaltney Sr. of Smithfield; and 
nieces and nephews.
