GWALTNEY Masonic funeral services for William D. Gwaltney, Sr. who died Thursday in Petersburg Hospital, were held Friday afternoon at Smithfield conducted by members of the Smithfield lodge of Masons.  Pallbearers were Harry Dashields, C.S. Betts, W.H. Chapman, Colgate Whitehead, Dr. T.H. Massey, W.F. Woody and J.F. Minton.    Mr. Gwaltney is survived by two sons, Henry O. Gwaltney, [and William D. Gwaltney,] Jr. of Smithfield; three daughters, Mrs. W.A. Walton of Disputania, Mrs. L. Dwight Stafford of Hopewell and Mrs. Eliott I. Warren of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, J.E.L. Gwaltney of Windsor and Joe Gwaltney of Newport News, and four grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** WILLIAM DUDLEY GWALTNEY FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR WM. D. GWALTNEY Masonic funeral services for Wm. Dudley Gwaltney, 70, who died at the Petersburg Hospital at one thirty A.M. Thursday after a brief illness, were held Friday. He was a native of Smithfield, Va., but had made his home with his son in Norfolk for the past two years. He was the son of the late W.O.P. and Mrs. Victoria Gwaltney. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W.A. Walton, of Disputania, and Mrs. Elliott Warren of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Henry O. Gwaltney of Norfolk, and William D. Gwaltney, Jr. of Smithfield; two brothers, J.J. Gwaltney of Newport News, and J.E.L. Gwaltney of Isle of Wight County; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Smithfield Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. and of the Smithfield Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Friday November 4th at three p.m. at the grave at the Mill Swamp Church in Isle of Wight County, with the Rev. L.F. Paulette and H.S. Southgate officiating. Active pallbearers were: Andrew Cofer, W.F. Moody, J.F. Minton, C.S. Betts, Dr. T.H. Massey, H.G. Dashiell, W.H. Chapman and W.C. Whitehead. Honorary: Masons and Relatives.
