GWALTNEY DIES IN SMITHFIELD Smithfield, Va., Aug. 11 - Mrs. W.D. Gwaltney, 56, died Sunday [sic; Monday*] morning at 2 o'clock at her home on James Street following an illness of twelve months. Mrs. Gwaltney was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Barham, of Surry County, and is survived by her husband, five children, Henry G. Gwaltney, of Norfolk, William Gwaltney, of Smithfield, Mrs. W.A. Walton, of Disputanta, Misses Emily and Belle Gwaltney, of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Wortham, of Newport News, and Mrs. J.C. Maynard, of Wakefield, and one brother, Henry B. Barham, of Braintree, Mass. Funeral services were held at the grave in Mill Swamp Cemetery in Isle of Wight County Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
