James H. Unruh, pastor of Providence Methodist Church, and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in Old St. Luke's Cemetery near Benn's Church, Isle of Wight County. Mrs. Gray, 72, a member of an old and prominent family of Isle of Wight County, died Sunday at 12:15 p.m. at Providence Methodist Church. She had attended Easter service and was stricken going from the church to the family car. A member of the church and its Woman's Society of Christian Service, she was assistant teacher of its Sadie Whitley Bible Class. She was a member of the Col. William Allen Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and of Blackstone College Alumnae Association. She was a charter member of the Jumbo Woman's Club and an honorary member of King's Fork Woman's Club. She grew up in the Chuckatuck section of Nansemond County and first was a member of Benn's Methodist Church. Her parents were Robert and Mary Batten Hodsden. Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel T. Gray; a stepson, N.T. Gray Jr., and a stepgrandson, N.T. Gay III, all of Nansemond County.
