FREDERICK MILTON GRIFFIS

   SMITHFIELD - A funeral service for Frederick Milton (Mooky) Griffis, 66, 
was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church by the Rev. Macon 
Walton.  Burial was in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.

   Griffis died Sunday in Leigh Memorial Hospital, Norfolk.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Margaret E. 
Griffis.  He was retired co-owner of Griffis Tire Co.  He was a member of 
Chris Episcopal Church and Smithfield Kiwanis Club.

   Other survivors include a son, J. Robert Joyner of Franklin; a sister, 
Mrs. Anne Spivey of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
