G.C. Crutchfield, pastor of Antioch Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Miss Griffin, 85, resident of Suffolk for many years, died Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Lane Nursing Home after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late John Clinton and Mrs. Rebecca Gaskins Griffin of Isle of Wight County. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Annie Griffin Daniels of Suffolk and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of Antioch Christian church. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held Sunday For Ada Ellen Griffin Funeral services for Ada Ellen Griffin were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. G.C. Crutchfield, pastor of Antioch Christian Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The casket was covered with a pall of white carnations, purple and lavender stock, yellow roses and acacia. Pallbearers were George Stroud, Jack Stroud, C.E. Gaskins, J.C. Griffin, Harry Griffin and Charlie Griffin. D, 16th VA Infantry, CSA. He was captured 27 Oct 1864 at Burgess Mill, and exchanged 28 Mar 1865.
