All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Martha Ann Griffin Funeral Tomorrow SMITHFIELD, Oct. 4 - Funeral services for Martha Ann Griffin, age 84, who died at her home near Windsor Tuesday morning, will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock in Antioch Church. Mrs. Griffin was the widow of W.H. Griffin. She is survived by two sons, Ben C. snd Walter Griffin, both of Windsor, and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The Rev. Ellis Clarke will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. John Slye. The body will be removed from the Jones Funeral Home at two o’clock and carried to the church where it will lie in state until three o'clock. Pallbearers will be Odell Atkinson, Wesley Copeland, William Hedgepeth, Charlie Rhodes, Letcher Braswell, Searle [sic; Surrell] Braswell, Willie Nelms and Frank Rose. Grandsons and friends of the family will act as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. W. H. Griffin Buried Oct. 5th In Antioch Cem. Mrs. Martha Ann Griffin, 84, widow of William H. Griffin, died at her home near Windsor October 3rd. She is survived by two sons, Ben C. Griffin and Walter Griffin, both of Windsor; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 3 P.M. Thursday at Antioch Church by the Rev. Ellis Clark, assisted by the Rev. John Slye. Burial was in the church cemetery.
