Griggs, 29 Of Norfolk, Died October 1st Thad Lemuel Griggs, 29, died October 1st., at 10:40 a,m., at a local hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Thad Gus Davis Griggs and Mrs. Annie Griggs, and resided at 2930 Fireside Road, Norfolk. Besides his wife, he is survived by three childen, James L., Edward, and Elizabeth Jane Griggs, all of Norfolk; three brothers, Richard W. and Sidney Griggs, of Smithfield; John T. Griggs of Norfolk County; five sisters, Mrs. H. Gay, of Smithfield; Mrs. L.E. Bassett of Norfolk County; Mrs. C.L. Guy, of Zuni; Mrs. P.L. Stanley, of Chuckatuck, and Mrs. G.W. Edwards, of Isle of Wight County. The body was removed to the funeral home of Paul B. Warren and Son. Funeral services were held Friday at the Antioch Christian Church, near Windsor. Burial was in the church cemetery.
