HENRY HAVERTY 

HENRY HAVERTY PASSES AWAY AT DAYS POINT 

Well Known Resident of the County Dies at His Home Here 

  Funeral services for Henry Haverty, prominent resident of this county, who 
died at his home near Days Point Thursday, were conducted Friday afternoon at 
the home by the Rev. Mr. Somerville, pastor of Bethany Methodist Church, 
assisted by the Rev. L.F. Paulette.

  Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery and the active pallbearers were Roy Conklin, 
W.H. Watkins, W.H. Sykes, J.M Branch, W.H. Chapman, M.R. Minton, C.H. Barlow 
and John I. Cofer.

  Honorary pallbearers were Ray Barlow, Gordon Barlow, S.G. Edwards., Lewis 
Stremmer, T.B. Wright, KI.D. Sykes, D.W. Sykes, J.R. Rowell, R.A. Edwards, 
W.F. Moody, Dr. Rae Parker, Dr. Hugh Warren, C.S. Butts, J.L. Warner, G.W. 
Delk, W.V. Wilson, D.L. Mountjoy, E.W. Johnson, L.W. Hearn, E.J. Cornwell, 
Dr. W.C. Ames, M.L. Gwaltney, J.M. Stringfield, J.M. Hundley, J.W. Stott,

  Mr. Haverty is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. J.M. Mountjoy, 
of Days Point; Mrs. Willie H. Cofer of Rushmere, and Miss Iona Haverty, of 
Days Point; six sons, H.C., C.D., P.H., George O. and W.S. Haverty, of Days 
Point, and John Haverty of Lynnhaven; one sister, Mrs. Bailey of Mylo, W.Va., 
and 26 grandchildren.
