Hayes of Gates County, N.C., died at the home of her sister Mrs. C.E. Bunn, in Clay Street Saturday morning after a brief illness, in her 48th year. Mrs. Hayes had been receiving treatment here and visiting her sister for about seven weeks. She was the daughter of the late Amos and Mrs. Ophelia Bradshaw of Isle of Wight County, and had been married for 22 years, being survived by her husband, W.R. Hayes of Gates County; four children J.B., Arthur, Henry and Miss Susie Hayes of Gates County; two brothers, W.M. and Elmer A. Bradshaw of Franklin; and three sisters, Mrs. C.E. Taylor of Portsmouth and Mrs. Margaret Snipes and Mrs. C.E. Bunn of this town. She had been a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church since childhood, and was known and esteemed for many fine and exemplary qualities as a devoted wife and mother and generous Neighbor. Funeral services were conducted from the Bunn residence here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. W.B. Denson of Beaver Dam, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Franklin Baptist Church. Interment was made in the family plot in the Beaver Dam cemetery, the body bearers being; C.C. Blythe, John Beaton, Paul Carr, R.C. Branch, R.B. Scott and F.E. Howell. [Mae (BRADSHAW; Mrs. W.R.)
