HEDGEBETH DIES IN HOLLAND Mrs. Addye Hedgebeth, 41, wife of W.L. Hedgebeth, died at 2:30 a.m. today at her home near Holland. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Scott, a son, Edward Thomas Hedgebeth, and one grandchild, all of Nansemond County; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Oakley, Newport News; Mrs. B.R. Johnson, Portsmouth; Mrs. J.W. Holland, Chuckatuck; Mrs. Quincey Joyner, Fox Hall, Va.; two brothers, N.T. Lewis and I.L. Lewis of Windsor, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home in Suffolk where it will remain until 4 p.m. Sunday, when the procession will leave for Holland Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., by Rev. W.H. Corbitt, Rev. W.L. Lumpkin, Rev. L.F. Paulette and Rev. D.S. Dempsey. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** MRS. ADDYE L. HEDGEBETH Funeral services for Mrs. Addye Lewis Hedgebeth were conducted Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Holland Baptist church by the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, Rev. W.L. Lumpkin, and Rev. D.S. Dempsey, of Portsmouth. A quartette composed of Mrs. S.L. Wright, Miss Nansey Eley, W.W. Darden, and G.D. Underwood, sang the hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Sometime We'll Underetand." A duet, "The Eastern Gale," was sung by Mrs. S.L. Wright and W.W. Darden, accompanied by Mrs. Clifford Holland. The casket was covered with a pall of pink roses and Ascension lilies. Active pallbearers were: J.H. and W.J. Wright, H.O. Swanner, Aubrey Tisdale, C.W. Howell, Jr., J.W. Howell, R.C. Byrd, and L.C. Harcum. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in Beaver Dam Church cemetery.
