Rev. Erold Lockridge and Rev. Harry L. Christie officiated. Pallbearers were Herman Bowden, Garland Whitley, B.F. Carr, T.M. Carr, Lawrence B. Carr, Richard Holland, Joe Hobbs and William Uzzell. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Mr. Hedgepeth, a native of Isle of Wight County, died Thursday at his home. He was a son of George and Mrs. Nannie Darden Hedgepeth and the husband of Mrs. Violet O’Berry Hedgepeth. He was deacon of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a member of Zuni Hunt Club and Zuni Ruritan Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shelby Jean Ellis and two sons, Johnnie Wayne Hedgepeth and Terry Lynn Hedgepeth, all of Zuni; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Barbara Jean Bossleman of Windsor and Miss Lee Ann Hedgepeth of Zuni; three sisters, Mrs. Hester Foster of Suffolk, Mrs. Jack Foster of Windsor and Mrs. Lee Phippins of Zuni; three brothers, William H. Hedgepeth of Suffolk, Darden Hedgepeth and Burlee Hedgepeth of Zuni; and two grandchildren.
