R.C. Black, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Jones Funeral Home to the church at 2 p.m. Mr. Hall, 86, died Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the home of his son, after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a member of Uzzell's Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Indiana T. Hall of Windsor; three daughters, Mrs. Henley T. Manning of Smithfield; Mrs. Kennedy Walton of Hampton and Mrs. Melvin Wood of Lynchburg; three sons, Charlie W. Hall of Windsor; Matt Hall of Isle of Wight Court House and J. Wesley Hall, Jr., of Smithfield; one sister, Mrs. Annie Scott of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Joseph W. Hall Sr. Buried May 24 In Uzzell's Cemetery Joseph Wesley Hall Sr., 85, died Friday, May 22, 1959, at 4:30 P.M. at the home of his son, Charlie W. Hall, Windsor, after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a member of Uzzell's Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Indiana T. Hall of Windsor; three daughters, Mrs. Henley T. Manning of Smithfield; Mrs. Kennedy Walton of Hampton, and Mrs. Melvin Wood of Lynchburg; three sons, Charlie W. Hall of Windsor; Matt Hall of Isle of Wight Courthouse; and J. Wesley Hall Jr. of Smithfield; one sister, Mrs. Annie Scott of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. His parents are also buried there. D.Cert. 12974 (Newport #2) gives son of Matthew & Ada (SPIVEY) HALL. His father (1838 - 1900) was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. E, 9th VA Infantry, rising from 2nd Sgt. to 2nd Lt. He was wounded at Gettysburg. His widow applied for a pension 17 Aug 1907.
