TENNIE HOWELL'S FUNERAL FRIDAY Funeral services for Linwood (Tennie) Henry Howell, Jr., 32, former minor league baseball player, who died unexpectedly Wednesday at noon, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 at the Holland Funeral Home in Franklin. The Rev. Clyde Fields, pastor of the Hunterdale Christian Church, will officiate, and burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Walters. Death was due to a heart ailment. Howell was well known throughout Tidewater Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. He had played with clubs in Franklin and Suffolk, in the Virginia League, and with teams in Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, Fla. At the time of his death he was employed in the engineering department of the Tidewater Construction Company, which is engaged in work on the new St. Regis Paper Company plant in Franklin. He was the son of Linwood H. Howell, Sr., and Mrs. Daisy English Howell, of Southampton County. He was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church and of Franklin Lodge No. 51 A.F. and A.M. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Phelps Howell; a daughter, Miss Rebecca Ann Howell, of Crewwell, N.C.; four brothers, Ray Howell, of Chuckatuck; Alfred Howell and Donald Howell, both of Courtland, and J.E. Howell, of Fort Belvoir; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Barnes, of Key West, Fla. and Miss Anna Howell, of Courtland; three nieces and two nephews.
