Holland, wife of James Henry Holland, of Windsor, died Thursday at 2 p.m., aged 60 years. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary A. Thorne, and besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Miss Bettie K. [sic*] Thorne, and three brothers, R.L. Thorne and R.S. Thorne, of Zuni, and M.L. Thorn, of Windsor. Funeral services were held at Antioch Christian Church afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. E.B. White. Burial was held in the church cemetery. "Thorn" in original corrected to "Thorne." Her D.Cert. 1732 (Windsor #1) does not give site or date of burial, only undertaker, C.W. BAILEY of Windsor. Only her brother "Cricket" Minard L. THORN (1877-1944) used that spelling. He & his twin Leonard L. THORNE (1877-1926) are also buried at Antioch. The D.Cert. [1945-1701 (Windsor Dist.)] of their sister "Bettie" Mary Elizabeth gives bu. 17 Jan 1945, near Windsor, by W.J.M. Holland & Sons, of Franklin. Their paternal uncle William T. THORNE was a Confederate soldier, having enlisted 10 Jun 1861 in Zuni, as a private in Co. C, 9th VA Inf., but he d. 11 Oct 1861 at home. He m. Lucretia "Creacy" BOWDEN 12 Apr 1849 in Isle of Wight Co., and they appeared in the 1860 Census (E.Dist., Isle of Wight Co.) with children Mary J., age 7, Martha S., 5, and John H., 3.
