He was the son of the late James and Sally Ray Holland* of North Carolina. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Iva Lee Drake and Mrs. Nellie May Bryant of Franklin, and Mrs. Eunice Britt of Littleton and one son, Jack Holland of Portsmouth; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Beaver Dam Baptist Church at 2 o’clock by the Rev. John Batkins and the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was in the church cemetery. The stone he shares with his widow, pictured with Find a Grave Mem. #66556707, is wrong - it gives Feb. 12, 1882 - Oct. 7, 1941. His D.Cert. (23548 {Franklin #78}) gives Feb. 5, 1879 - Oct. 9, 1942. His WW-I draft registration gives b. Feb. 27, 1881.
