GEORGE EDWARD HOLLAND

   CARRSVILLE - George Edward Holland, 56, died at his home here Tuesday 
afternoon after a long illness. 

   He was a lifelong resident of Carrsville community [sic*] and member of 
member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.  He was the husband of Mrs. Dorothy 
Josephine Johnson Holland and son of the late Lamb [sic*] and Mrs. Elizabeth 
Daughtrey Holland of Isle of Wight County. 

   Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, Robert Lee Holland, George 
Edward Holland, Jr., and Elvers Henry Holland, all of Carrsville, one 
daughter, Mrs. Helen H. Bishop of Carrsville; four brothers, Otis Holland of 
Portsmouth, Clarence Holland, Robert Holland and L.H. Holland, all of Norfolk; 
three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Waldron of Portsmouth, Mrs. Vertley Groton of Norfolk 
and Mrs. Elizabeth Fulton of Scranton, Pa. 

   A funeral service was conducted at Beaver Dam Baptist Church today 
(Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr., pastor.  Burial 
was in Beaver Dam Church cemetery. 

   Pallbearers were Roy Worrell, Luke Gardner, W.E. Worrell, W.J. Bishop, 
Clarence Daughtrey, Emmett Rawls, Jarvis Howell and John Edward Rose, Jr.
