R. Holland, 80 Funeral services for Meredith Richard Holland, 80, who died at his home near Windsor on Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hill and Company Funeral Home. A native of Isle of Wight county and prominent farmer in this area for many years, he was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. He was the son of the late Robert Edwin Holland and Mary Elizabeth Hatchell Holland and the husband of the late Martha Sarah Pierce Holland. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Morgan of Suffolk, Mrs. Parke C. Brinkley of Richmond, Mrs. George H. Wilson and Mrs. Wilbur Nelms of Windsor; two sons, R. Eddie Holland of Smithfield and James R. Holland of Windsor; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also a number of nieces and nephews. Conducting the services will be the Reverend J. Sydney Cobb, a retired Baptist minister of Windsor, and the Reverend T. Fred Wright of Sunbury, N.C. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** M.R. HOLLAND, 80, DIES NEAR WINDSOR Suffolk, Dec, 3 - Meredith Richard Holland, 80, a retired farmer, died Saturday at his home near Windsor, Isle of Wight County. One of his daughters, Mrs. Parke C. Brinkley, of Richmond, is the wife of the State Agricultural Commissioner. Also surviving are three other daughters, Mrs. Elsie Morgan, of Suffolk, and Mrs. George H. Wilson and Mrs. Wilbur Nelms, of Windsor; two sons, R. Eddie Holland, of Smithfield, and James R. Holland, of Windsor; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home here, with burial in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County. ****************************************************************************** M. Richard Holland Buried in Isle-Wight WINDSOR - Funeral services for Meredith Richard Holland, who died Saturday, were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb and the Rev. Fred T. Wright. Burial was in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Isle of Wight County. Frank Drewry, accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner, sang "When They Ring Those Golden Bells." The pall was of red roses and white chrysanthemums. Pallbearers were J.L. Wilson, Vernon Little, Edwin Houchens, James Jones, Shirley T. Holland, J.H. Godwin, J.S. Morgan, Clyde Bracey, Harry Carr and Bud Holland. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** M. R. Holland, 80, Of Windsor Buried Monday, Dec. 5th Meredith Richard Holland, 80, died December 3, 1955 at his home near Windsor after an illness of two weeks. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a prominent farmer until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church of Isle of Wight County. He was the husband of the late Martha Sarah Pierce Holland, and the son of the late Robert Edwin Holland and Mary Elizabeth Hatchell Holland of Isle of Wight County. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Elsie Morgan of Suffolk, Mrs. Parke C. Brinkley, of Richmond, Mrs. George H. Wilson and Mrs. Wilbur Nelms, both of Windsor; two sons, R. Eddie Holland of Smithfield and James R. Holland of Windsor; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home in Suffolk where funeral services were held Monday at 2 P.M. by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb, of Windsor, and the Rev. T. Fred Wright of Sunbury, N.C. Burial was in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
