R. H. Holland Rites Thursday At Smithfield 

  SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Rudolph Howard (Doc) Holland will be 
conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Central Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. 
Luther Knight of Sumter, S.C., and the Rev. J. Wesley Collins of Pine Grove 
Assembly of God Church.  The body will be taken from the Bullock Funeral Home 
to the church at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in the Central Hill Cemetery. 

  He was a farmer and a life-long resident of Isle of Wight County, a trustee 
of Central Hill Baptist Church and a member of its Men's Bible Class, a 
founder of Central Hill Hunt Club, and a member of Farmers Union, Inc. 

  He was the son of Joseph and Mrs. Edith [sic; Judith] Eley Holland. 

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Violet Carr Holland; a son, Robert S. 
Holland of Windsor; two granddaughters, Deborah Ann Holland of Windsor; two 
sisters, Mrs. Grant R. Elliott of Richmond and Mrs. James Melito Sr. of 
Suffolk; and five brothers, Eugene R. Holland, W. Herman Holland, Jasper 
Holland, Rodman Holland and Morrison H. Holland of Isle of Wight County.
