Holland Reburied Sunday Funeral services for Pfc. Richard L. Holland, who was killed in action in Germany in April 1945, were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Boyles conducted the services. The Colosse Baptist Church choir sang "The Lily of the Valley" and "Goodnight, Good Morning." The casket was covered with an American flag which was later replaced with a pall of red roses and white carnations. Pallbearers were Robert R. Lewis, Irving Jenkins, James Whitley, June Spivey, Palmer Spivey, Alton Spivey, Abner Spivey and Henry Gwaltney. Burial took place in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Pvt. R. L. Holland Of Windsor, Va. Reburied Sunday The body of Pvt. Richard L. Holland, who was killed in action in Germany April 12, 1945, arrived at Suffolk Friday afternoon under the escort of Sergt. Cabot M. Wilkinson and was taken to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home, where funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. by the Rev. Jack Boyles. Burial was in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County. Private Holland is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Holland of Windsor; one brother, James Wesley Holland of Windsor; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Whittie Lee Darden, and paternal grandfather, M. Richard Holland, both of Windsor. He was inducted into the Army in September 1944, and took his basic training at Fort McClellan, Ala. He was sent overseas in February 1945, where he served in the 89th Division of the Third Army.
