He was an employee of the Newport News Ship Yard, member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Woodman of the World, Purdie Lodge 170 A.F.A.M. and the Royal Arch Chapter of the Suffolk Lodge. He was the son of the A.L. and Addie Johnson Holland of Walters. Surviving are three brothers, Taylor Holland of Walters, Leroy Holland of Windsor, and H.L. Holland of Waverly; one sister, Mrs. Cora Lee Carr of Carrsville. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Mt. Carmel Church at 4 o'clock by Rev. Fred Wright. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were O.C. Carr, J.L. Rhodes, C. E. Fulgham, H.B. Powell, John Stephenson, Sherman Johnson, Jasper Carr and John Ballard. Honorary pallbearers were members of Class No. 5 Baracca-Class and Woodman of the World.
