MATTIE SUE CROCKER GARRIS HINES 

   CARRSVILLE - A funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Crocker Hines was conducted 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the 
Rev. Joseph McTeer and the Rev. Donald Trump.  Burial was in Colosse Church 
cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Keith Johnson, Johnny Stephens, Edwin Beale, Wesley 
Holland, Presley Carr, Frank Cutchins, Leon Alphin and Delmar Carr.

   Mrs. Mattie Crocker Hines, 86, died in Southampton Memorial Hospital, 
Franklin, Monday morning.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Ernest R. Hines and 
a daughter of Drew and Mrs. Fannie Atkins Crocker.

   She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and its Woman’s Missionary 
Society.

   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary G. Redd, Mrs. Mildred G. Avis, 
and Mrs. Margaret G. Rhodes of Carrsville; two sons, Floyd Garris of Windsor 
and Elbert R. Hines of Richmond, a sister, Mrs. Archer Atkins of Windsor; 
six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
