HINES Funeral services for Mrs. Martha E. Hines were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence in N. Main Street, conducted by the Rev. H.J. Goodwin and the Rev. J. Sydney Cobb. A quartette composed of Mrs. R.H. Jacobs, Mrs. W.A. Hart, W.W. Ballard and W.T. Matthews, accompanied by Mrs. C.R. Wallace, rendered the hymns "Holy Night" and "In The Garden." A duet was sung by Mrs. R.H. Jacobs and Mrs. W.A. Hart, "Whispering Hope." There were many handsome floral designs, the casket being covered with a pall of lilies and white rose-buds. Active pallbearers were C.B. Pond, Dr. Archie Smither, W.T. Barrett, M.A. Elliott, W.J. Rhodes, Jasper Oliver, L.B. Evans. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
