A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Antioch Church with the Rev. Mark T. Habecker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Friends may join the family Saturday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Va., and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Antioch Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 36, Windsor, VA 23487. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com. ****************************************************************************** Robert McEwen Harrup WINDSOR - Robert McEwen Harrup, 66, of Windsor, died April 28, 2009, at the Waverly Healthcare Center exactly 11 years after suffering a debilitating stroke and accident. He was born in Sussex County, the son of the late Burnice Lee and Agnes Fowler Harrup. Mr. Harrup was a graduate of Waverly High School and took classes from the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Maryland, Dallas County Community College and Paul D. Camp Community College. He retired from selling real estate and insurance. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Antioch Church in Windsor and a former member of Windsor Ruritan Club and American Legion. Mr. Harrup is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wilkins Harrup of Windsor; son, Michael T. Harrup of Demorest, Ga.; son, Steven B. Harrup of Tiger, Ga.; daughter, Karen C. Broadwater of Temperanceville; sisters, Linda H. Chambers and Judy H. Peffer of Waverly; a brother, Dennis F. Harrup, Jr., of Chesterfield; cousins, extended family and friends. A funeral service was held May 3 at Antioch Church with the Rev Mark T. Habecker officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military honors. She is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, as "Agnes KOHART. Her widower is buried with his first wife in Waverly Cemetery, Sussex Co.
