ALICE HARRISON Mrs. Alice Harrison, 79, well-known resident of Isle of Wight County, died Saturday morning at the home of her son, R.T. Harrison, after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Lottie Rose Bradshaw, of Walters, and is survived by three sons, R.T. Harrison of Carrsville; W.H. and John O. Harrison, of Norfolk, and one niece Mrs. Norman Beaton of Boykins. Funeral services were conducted from the residence near Walter Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. Rufus Corbitt. Burial was in the family cemetery near Walters. Alice L. (BRADSHAW; Mrs. Charles H.) HARRISON, Southampton Co. native, d. 23 Dec 1939, at son's home, Isle of Wight Co., age 79, interred in the family cemetery*, near Walters, 24 Dec 1939, "The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 20, No. 39, Dec. 28, 1939, p. 1, col. 4 *Possibly identical with the HARRISON family cemetery off Outland Dr. (Rt. 612) {Google} / Outland Rd. {IWCHS}, though it's closer to Carrsville than Walters. There is no report posted, but the description states, "... had been plowed over with nothing but bricks visible."
