J. C. Harrison Rites Saturday At Franklin 

  NORFOLK - Funeral service for Joseph Clifton Harrison of Norfolk, a native 
of Isle of Wight County, will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the W.J.M. 
Holland Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin 
Baptist Church, and the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist 
Church.  Burial will be in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. 

  Mr. Harrison, 44, was drowned in the Elizabeth River, Norfolk, several days 
ago and his body was recovered yesterday. 

  He was a merchant seaman and for a number of years had worked for Norfolk 
bakeries. 

  He was the son of the late William Henry Harrison Sr. and Josie Clay Carr 
Harrison of Isle of Wight County. 

  He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Howell of Franklin and Mrs. 
Evelyn Kent of New York; three brothers, W.H. Harrison Jr., of Norfolk, and 
Robert Edward Harrison of Florida and Wallace Harrison of Franklin.
