"Lam") HARCUM, of Franklin, Isle of Wight Co. native, d. 6 Dec 1944, Franklin, age 67, interred in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery**, 9 Dec 1944, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Dec. 8, 1944, p. 6 *Her gravestone actually reads "Mammie D. Harcum." Her parents are also buried there; their full names were William Thomas & Chere Elizabeth (CARR) DAUGHTREY. Beaver Dam list (BC-39 & -30) - an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/isleofwight/cemeteries/bvrdam.txt Her husband's obit ("Tidewater News," Nov. 2, 1934, p. 1) is posted at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/isleofwight/obits/h625l2ob.txt Her D.Cert. (#28131 {Franklin #84}) is somewhat confusing - it gives b. "December 12" in Isle of Wight, Virginia; d. age 67 years, 3 days; the informant was [son] P.D. Harcum, of Waverly. Perhaps "12" is rendundant for the month, rather than being the day.
